At Kintsugi Counselling we believe that we all do better when we have authentic, deep, and secure relationships with ourselves and the world around us.
Have you experienced the loss of a loved one or childhood trauma?
We can help.
Complex trauma shatters our sense of self. The loss of a loved one can shatter our vision of the future. Traumatic events shatter our sense of safety. Many people who endure these things speak about feeling broken and of not knowing if they will ever feel fixed. You are not broken; if you live in Ontario, our online counselling and remote psychotherapy can support you to feel strong and hopeful again. If you live in London, Ontario, in-person support is available too.

We specialize in psychotherapy and grief counselling for adults who have experienced childhood trauma that has resulted in anxiety, depression, and overwhelm in adulthood. In-person or virtual support options are available.
Kintsugi Counselling was founded by Steve Sunseth, a registered master's level Social Worker and certified NARM therapist. We practice a therapy approach called NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), which addresses childhood trauma and rebuilds identity, self-esteem, relationships, and a sense of belonging.

"I cannot change what happened to you. What I can do is help you change how you relate to that adversity. I help you identify and honour the strategies you have developed to overcome adversity, examine how they are impacting your life today, and develop new strategies that are better suited to your current situation". Steve Sunseth, MSW
"When we are together I will never judge you or tell you what to do. Together we will explore new ways of being, and new strategies for coping with whatever happened to you." .
Build meaningful relationships, reduce stress, shame and anxiety
Most people who come to Kintsugi Counselling, whether it is for grief counselling or psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, burnout, overwhelm, ADHD, or other issues, are struggling to live authentically and to feel they belong and are valued. They wonder where their relationships have gone and don't know what to do. Often they have been diagnosed with ADHD, depression, or anxiety disorders, but do not feel medications are the answer to their deep stress, sadness, and emptiness.

Our online and in-person counselling clients include adoptees and those who suffered early life attachment losses or trauma. Our founder is an adoptee who struggled with attachment and belonging, has been through the search and reunion process, and understands the unique needs of those who were relinquished or apprehended as children.
